Time Is On My Side è un brano scritto da Norman Meade (vero nome Jerry Ragovoy, autore anche di altre canzoni degli anni '60), e quindi non dagli Stones, ma piuttosto valido, diventato un buon successo negli USA (#6 nel 1965) dove era stato pubblicato come singolo.
Il brano parla di un uomo abbandonato dalla sua donna ma che sa, o spera, che "il tempo è dalla sua parte" e che lei alla fine tornerà da lui, anche se le augura di fare, in questo periodo da "single", tutte le esperienze che il suo cuore desidera; lui sarà sempre attorno, pronto a riprendere il rapporto.
E' probabile però che il titolo sia stato anche interpretato, da parte dei giovani e giovanissimi che ne hanno decretato il successo,  come una orgogliosa affermazione della forza che il tempo dava loro nel confronto con gli adulti.
Nel video, reperibile su YouTube, che riprende i Rolling Stones interpretare questa canzone davanti a un pubblico di teen-ager (probabilmente americani) si nota chiaramente il coinvolgimento di questi ultimi, e si nota anche l'invito rivolto loro da Mick Jagger sfruttando la seconda strofa ("Go ahead, go ahead and light up the town"): sono loro, i giovani, che devono andare avanti senza paura e accendere le luci della città.

Tentativo di versione italiana, decisamente fuori centro e con testo improponibile, da parte della Equipe 84 del primo periodo, nello stesso anno 1965 (La fine del libro).
