Un brano di Robert James Byrd, portato al successo alla fine degli anni '50 dal cantante nero americano Bobby Day, esponente di spicco del genere doo woop (il precursore del surf dei Beach Boys). Grande successo anche, qualche anno dopo, per la riproposta in chiave beat da parte dei Dave Clark Five, uno dei tanti gruppi inglesi considerati per un certo periodo una credibile alternativa ai Beatles. E' stato preso come base per la canzone francese In fila indiana del cantante e cabarettista Sacha Distel, con testo diverso, ed anche per una "canzone di protesta" della prima fase del beat italiano: I capelloni dei Camaleonti.

The song was written by James Byrd, and was a big hit for the doo-wop singer Bobby Day. It was a major hit also for the Dave Clark Five group, credited for a certain period as a credible alternative to the Beatles.
The song was recorded by the French singer and entertainer Sacha Distel, with different words, both in French and in Italian (In fila indiana) and afterwards also by the famous italian group I camaleontiwith other lyrics again (I capelloni, "boys with long hair").
